Background & challenge
One of the world’s largest banks was navigating a major period of challenge and transformation. It identified the critical role of its leaders in driving a high performance culture, embedding its newly defined values and achieving its ambitious growth strategy. The Bank wanted to develop a strong pipeline of leaders who were able to bring the vision to life, lead in a purposeful way and drive the changes needed.
This was a critical piece of work for the Bank and the first of its kind. With an extremely diverse cohort of leaders spanning 30 nationalities, it was imperative that any programme was relevant and impactful across cultures.
Solution
A personalised development programme was implemented focused on very senior executives (Country Head/ Regional business leaders) who had the potential to take on significantly larger roles. The purpose was to help participants identify their capabilities, strengths and growth opportunities.
The programme comprised of a rigorous assessment using a combination of psychometrics and a deep dive structured interview, drawing on the profiles and exploring the leaders’ challenges. This was followed up by the provision of a personalised insights report and coaching session during which a meaningful personal development plan was created.
The leadership coaches were handpicked by the Bank’s senior team based on their experience in executive assessment, coaching and working across cultures.
Outcomes
The programme received extremely positive feedback during its evaluation. Key themes were that the personalised insights and support was invaluable to them making the shift they needed to get to the next level.
